KDCloudApps 2015
First International Workshop on
Knowledge Discovery and Cloud Computing Applications
http://aisii.azc.uam.mx/kdcloudapps
The purpose of KDCloudApps 2015 is to bring together researchers, developers and practitioners from academia, government, and industry to discuss and exchange recent advances, results, experiences and lessons learned from the development of applications that apply tools, techniques, methods, and models supported by Knowledge Discovery (KD) and Cloud Computing (CC) technologies. Additionally, KDCloudApps also provides a forum to discuss how KD and CC technologies can interact in order to provide more scalable and flexible intelligent information systems.
KDCloudApps aims at complementing DEXA 2015 main conferences by providing a forum to discuss and present KD and CC novel applications that achieve more scalable and flexible intelligent information systems. KDCloudApps is application and demonstration oriented, therefore is a relevant forum where researchers, developers and practitioners from academia, government, and industry can present and discuss recent advances, results, experiences and lessons learned.
The interest of developing KD and CC methods, models and applications has grown rapidly in recent years. This is because nowadays there is the need to process large amount of data, and the associated complexity to automatically process and extract relevant and useful information that would allow for automatic and responsive systems.
Cloud platform is a key enabler for scalable processing, data storage and Web services, which can be exploited to support the design and implementation of knowledge discovery systems and applications.
The kind of technologies and applications that are of interest for this workshop are: natural language processing techniques for knowledge discovery, sentiment analysis, opinion mining, social network analysis, news mining, semantic enrichment, semantic Web, cloud resources monitoring, ontologies to support knowledge discovery, reasoning on ontologies for knowledge discovery, service-oriented applications, etc.
