Dexa 2019 Conferences and the workshops will take place at the Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU Linz).

Transportation to JKU Linz
The most convenient way to get to JKU Linz is by tram (“Straßenbahn”), take tram line 1 or 2 in the direction “Universität”. From the main train station, it takes about 30 minutes. Tickets are available at the ticket vending machines of LINZ AG Linien: MAXI (24-hour ticket, € 4.50), MIDI (more than 4 stops, € 2.30), MINI (up to 4 stops, € 1.20). Hotel Accommodations
Accommodation in Linz is usually not an issue, but holiday period may be more busy. So we recommend to book your accomodation as early as possible. DEXA attendees can book direct to the hotel or via online booking services. It is recommended to book hotel nearby JKU area or Linz Central station (Hauptbahnhof) for easy access to commute.

Basic Travel Information
Linz is located in upper Austria and can be reached quickly by car, train or plane. International flight connections mostly serve their flight to Linz via Vienna, Frankfurt or Munich.
- Arrival by plane
The closest airport is the Blue Danube Airport in Linz-Hörsching (LNZ). The “Blue Danube Airport Shuttle” (bus no. 601) is a convenient way to travel from the airport to the city center in about 20 minutes. The bus stop at the Airport is in front of the arrival hall. Tickets are available on the bus (€ 3.20 single way, full price, cash only) or at the ticket machine at the station.
- Arrival by train
“Linz Hauptbahnhof” is the main train station. Please note that there is a direct train connection from Vienna International Airport (VIE) to Linz Central Station (Linz Hauptbahnhof). - Arrival by Bus
Coming from nearby cities or countries (i.e. Prag, Munich etc), Linz can also be reached by Bus. Travel with WESTbus is quite comfortable & easy, Information and booking: www.flixbus.com/bus/linz
Public transport in Linz
Commuting within Linz City is very easy. You can have excursion by foot while pedestrian ways are available almost in every streets and parks. Public transportation Buses & Trams (“Straßenbahn”), connecting the suburb to the city central (“Zentrum”). Tickets are available at the ticket vending machines of LINZ AG Linien: MAXI (24-hour ticket, € 4.50), MIDI (more than 4 stops, € 2.30), MINI (up to 4 stops, € 1.20), which are valid to be used for both Linz AG Linien Buses & Trams. Visa & Invitation Letters
International participants should be particularly aware and careful about visa requirements & regulations and should plan travel well in advance. Before travelling, it is recommended that you check with the Austrian Representative Office in your country for an updated information.
Invitation Letters
Should participants of DEXA 2019 need a letter from the organisers of the conference for filing a visa request, they are required first to complete his/her registration and payment at (https://conferences.jku.at/dexa2019/) and then send an email to DEXA organization office (hesti/AT\iiwas.org) with the following information:

Please notice that visa invitation letters will ONLY be issued to participants who have registered and paid their registration fees in full.
It must be understood that these letters are only intended to help participants to obtain a visa or to raise travel funds and do not commit the Conference Organizers to any financial nor insurance obligations.
