DEXA 2023 Conferences & Workshops Program
Instructions for in-person presentations
- DEXA 2023 and related conferences and workshops will be held at:
- All sessions will take place at Esplanade ballroom, Ferringhi room and Makan Kitchen function room
- Registration desk will be in the foyer of Esplanade ballroom and open from 08:00 - 16:00 (local time) on 28-29 August 2023
- Please wear whatever you feel comfortable. There is no specific dress code.
- All rooms are equipped with a standard Beamer. We prefer that you bring your own computer with the required adapters to connect to the beamer (HDMI and VGA).
- Presentation time for all paper categories is 20 minutes including Q&A
- All sessions will be moderated by session chairs. Please try to come to your session a head of time to check that the beamer is working.
Instructions for online presenations
- All prresentations need to be live. The author needs to be available to answer questions.
- You need to have Zoom installed on your PC. It is available for free and you don't need a licensed version
- The links to the Zoom meetings in the program are all clickable. You can also cut and paste the link in your browser or Zoom client.
- By clicking on one of the links, you accept the terms and conditions stated in the program.
- For authentication, we require that you log in to Zoom with your full name instead of using a nick name.
- Check the time of your presentation. All times in the program are given in Central European Summer Time, (Vienna Paris, Berlin). You can convert it to your local time zone through this website
- The duration of presentations for all paper categories will be 20 minutes including Q&A.
- Enable the video during your presentation and Q&A
- You need to enable screen sharing and video to share your slides.
- Please try to come to the session ahead of time to check that everything works for you.
- Some practical tips for presenters:
- Use a quiet space, isolated from noises, from pets, family members and others, if possible.
- Turn off phone ringers, and be mindful of anything visually distracting in the background (or use the virtual background we prepared for you at the program page).
- Prepare some drinking water (just as what's provided at speaker lecterns) and set a timer (since there may not be any session chair timing feedback).
- For other participants (other than the presenter), audio should be muted and video turned off (the standard setting for zoom sessions)
