Publication
All accepted DIAAI 2025 papers will be published by Springer in their Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS). CCIS volumes are indexed in Scopus; EI Engineering Index; Google Scholar; DBLP; etc. and submitted for indexing in the Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI), part of Clarivate Analytics’ Web of Science.
Scope
Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, and data science have the potential to transform society, but these technologies must be accessible to all, including individuals with disabilities. Digital inclusion is not a luxury; it is a necessity for a just and equitable society. This workshop aims to explore innovations, challenges, and best practices in ensuring that AI tools are usable by everyone, regardless of physical, cognitive, or sensory impairments.
We invite researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and industry experts to submit papers that address key aspects of accessibility and inclusion in AI. The workshop will serve as a forum for discussing advancements in inclusive design, assistive technologies, and policies that support accessibility in AI systems.
Topics of Interest
Submissions may include, but are not limited to:
- AI-driven assistive technologies for individuals with disabilities
- Inclusive AI design principles and best practices
- Accessibility challenges in machine learning models and data science tools
- Speech, text, and image processing for accessibility applications
- Human-computer interaction (HCI) and user experience (UX) in accessible AI
- Ethics and fairness in AI accessibility
- Voice and gesture-based AI interfaces for users with mobility or speech impairments
- AI-driven captioning, sign language recognition, and text-to-speech solutions
- Bias and fairness in AI for people with disabilities
- Policy and regulatory frameworks for digital inclusion
- Open-source and community-driven accessibility solutions in AI
- Case studies of successful implementation of accessible AI solutions
- Creating inclusive jobs for AI
Submission Guidelines
We welcome original research, case studies, position papers, and experimental findings:
- Regular paper submissions about original work not exceeding 10 pages.
- Short paper submissions on recent or ongoing work on relevant topics and ideas not exceeding 5 pages.
Submission Procedure
Authors should first consult Springer’s authors’ instructions and use the proceedings templates, either for LaTeX or for Word, for the preparation of their papers.
Papers submission will be managed using HotCRP. To submit a paper, create an account or sign in if you already have an account. To create an account, you only need to enter a valid email address. You will receive an email with a link to change the password and fill in your name, affiliation, etc., You can start the submission process by clicking on "new submission".
Review Process
Submissions to the workshop must not have been published or be concurrently considered for publication elsewhere. All submissions will be peer-reviewed by at least 3 reviewers and judged based on originality, contribution to the field, technical and presentation quality, and relevance to the workshop. Short papers are meant for timely discussion and feedback at the workshop.
Accepted Papers
All accepted papers will be published by Springer in "Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS). Authors of all accepted papers must sign a Springer copyright release form. Papers are accepted with the understanding that at least one author will register for the conference to present the paper. All published papers will be indexed appropriately in all major indexes.
